WOOH (2025)
The “Woman! Check In: October for Our Health” project was a community-driven health initiative designed to promote early detection and holistic wellness among women. Timed to align with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the project placed breast cancer screening at its core while also offering general health checks. By targeting 100 women aged 18–70 at Achimota Mile 7 Accra Ghana and its environs, the project aimed to raise awareness, encourage regular screenings, and provide vital health education. It was a call for women to prioritize their well-being through accessible, preventive care services and informed lifestyle choices
This initiative was a one-day health screening outreach that seeked to educate, empower, and screen women in Achimota Mile 7 Accra Ghana and its environs. With breast cancer as the focal point, it integrated other essential screenings such as blood pressure, weight assessment, sugar level checks, and medical consultations. Held in October, the event also provided an opportunity for women to engage with healthcare professionals and receive guidance on preventive health measures.
